We believe in the importance of students having exciting classroom experiences, trying things for themselves and learn to manage risk for themselves. We will always ensure that activities are as safe as we can make them and that students are not put in danger. This is balanced with our Health and Safety duties and obligations.
Health and Safety enters all aspects of school life whether it is fire safety, managing asbestos in our buildings or making sure all precautions are taken to make the activities and environment as safe as possible.
We will always:
- take all reasonable steps to provide safe and healthy conditions for staff, students and others who may be affected by our activities.
- take all necessary steps to ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
- expect all staff and students to co-operate in complying with all legal obligations and to take reasonable care of their own health, safety and wellbeing and have regard for the health, safety and wellbeing of others.
- be committed to providing the necessary information, instruction and training to all staff and students where needed.
We expect all students to follow the rules set out to ensure everyone’s safety.
