At Royds, we make sure that all our students have a learning experience that is suited to them, one that recognises their different learning styles, but stretches and challenges them to achieve their very best. Each teacher knows student’s ability, how they learn best and their potential. We set goals for every student in every subject area, to ensure they are making excellent progress. Students receive three reports a year that will give an update on this progress, as well as informing you of your child’s attitude to learning, attendance and any homework concerns in these subjects.
Our curriculum enables students to choose a wide variety of options, leaving all future pathways open as they begin to make decisions about their future. All students study the core subjects and secure qualifications in English, Maths and Science. At the end of Year 9, students will choose options to continue to study in Year 10 and 11.
This means that all students are able to achieve the Ebacc qualifications as well as having the chance to pursue their interests in the arts, sports, technology and music.
