Choosing a secondary school is a very important decision for a family and it is extremely important that you are given opportunities to visit your perceptive school so that you can see first-hand what the school is like on a normal day to day basis as well as asking questions as you tour the school. At Royds we host several events throughout the year to showcase what we can offer your child. These events will be communicated in advance via the academy’s website and social media platforms.
Admissions to Royds are run through Leeds City Council for entry between Year 7 and Year 11.
Admissions to Year 7
We are holding a Year 5 / Year 6 open evening on:
30th September, 2021, between 5:00-7:30pm
for prospective students who will be transitioning to high school. Parents will then be invited to apply by Leeds City Council using an online system with secondary school places confirmed the following March. It is sometimes still possible to gain a place during the summer term and if you wish to join, please telephone the General Office.
For more information on transition, please click here.
Admissions to Other Year Groups
If there are spaces in a year group, a place will normally be offered and we would request that an in-year transfer form (available from Leeds City Council) is completed and then submitted to school.
At Royds we operate an open-door policy and welcome anyone who is interested in joining Royds to arrange a visit. If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled events, please contact the academy to arrange an alternative time and date.
